Aurora - Live music night for Woking's under 18s

Aurora - Live music night for Woking's under 18s

Max is our newest volunteer and he has already started up a fantastic new creative outlet for young people to become involved in live music, both to watch and enjoy and be part of organising. He has only just turned 16 and has set up this music night for young people aged 11+ to manage, play, sound engineer, light engineer and do all aspects of putting safe, accessible live music gigs together. They can enjoy great, creative, nights out and learn valuable creative industry skills that transfer to so many areas of work or just have fun! We are really proud of him and his friends - he has done all of this himself, we are just providing the venue and equipment and encouragement, which is what we set up for - to be a place where people can explore doing what they want to see happen no matter what age or background.

The first Aurora live music night is happening on 1st November and you can find out more on the Aurora Woking website.
